Apprentice Electrician

Looking for an experienced licensed Journeyman Electrician for our client on a contract to hire basis in Chanhassen to help install, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as: switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, production equipment and lighting. This is a 1st shift opportunity working Monday through Friday from 7AM - 3PM. Starting wage of $18-$24/hour.
Apprentice Electrician Job Duties
Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown in line with OSHA requirements
Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including, but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment
Advise Operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with equipment and components
Be experienced and trained in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures and Arc Flash Safety
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during machine service
Have ability to directly supervise unlicensed individuals/apprentices performing electrical modification or projects
Apprentice Electrician Minimum Experience/Education Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent
Be registered with DOLI as an unlicensed electrical worker for a minimum of 2 years
Two (2) years of vocational/technical education, preferable in electrical repair
Excellent mechanical and mathematical/analytical skills
Must be able to work independently and be a problem solver
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and stoop for up to 8 hours
Comfortable working at heights in an aerial lift
Ability to work 5 consecutive 8 hour shifts and ability to work overtime as required
Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check required
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and stoop for up to 12 hours
Ability to work 5 consecutive 8 hour shifts and ability to work overtime as required
Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check required
